The house below is located in Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Wood Islands is situated just across the stait that separates Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada from Prince Edward Island, a distance of about 23 miles.

Our ancestor Roderick MacKay came to Wood Islands (by about 1823) as a young man, settled on this propery and started a family with Marion (Sarah) MacDonald.

This property has been occupied by the MacKay family for five continuous generations.

The house was completely restored in the early 1990's with no structural changes and appears just as it must have looked over 150 years ago. The farm is still the original size, just about 100 acres.

My grandmother Clara Watho MacKay was born here in 1887.
